RESTAURANT AND BAR

The restaurant and bar will be opening on Thursday 12th May.

We are now taking bookings online for up until the end of June. If you would like to book for more than 6 people, please email us – bookings@theshoregate.com.

We will open bookings for July and August once we’ve found our feet a little.

Restaurant reservations:
Thursday:   18:00 – 20:30
Friday, Saturday and Sunday:  12.30 – 14.30,  18:00 – 20:30

We will also be serving a light lunch menu in the bar between 12.30 and 15:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. You can see our sample bar menu here.

The bar hours will be:
Thursday  16:00 – 23:00
Friday and Saturday:  12.00 – 23:00
Sunday  12.30 – 22.30

We will not be taking reservations in the bar. Dogs are welcome in the bar, but not the restaurant, at all times.

BEDROOMS

We will have four bedrooms, each over 20m2, with king or super king-sized beds and large bathrooms with walk-in showers.

Three rooms are on the first floor, while the fourth occupies the whole of the top floor with views to the Isle of May and beyond.

We will not open the rooms for general booking until Autumn 2022. However, we will be opening them for 10 days in July during the Open Golf Championship

BEDROOM ACCESS

Due to the quirky configuration of the staircases in this historic building, The Shoregate’s bedrooms will not be suitable for guests who require assistance climbing staircases.

DOGS

Whilst dogs are very welcome in the back bar, we will not be able to accept pets to stay in our rooms.

Food and drink

The East Neuk has some of the best produce and producers in the country. The rich seas and soils provide an ever changing supply of amazing ingredients year round.

We want to showcase the food and drink from local suppliers where possible, and reduce food miles as much as we can.

We will offer fresh, seasonal, sustainable lunchtime and evening menus that offer a combination of a few ‘standards’ with lots of dishes that perhaps aren’t available everywhere else.

We will try to ensure there are always both vegan and gluten-free starters, mains and puddings on offer.

Bookings will go live on the site from Thursday 5th for dates up until the end of June. We will be open throughout May from Thursday evening through to Sunday evening. We’re hoping to add further days soon.

Jobs

We want to create a sustainable business that offers a long-term prospect for all of our staff.

CHEF DE PARTIE / COMIS (Part or Full time)

Working alongside the Head Chef, you’ll have a fair few years of experience under your belt preparing fresh, inventive dishes to a very high standard.

KITCHEN PORTERS (Part time)

The vital engine that powers the kitchen, the KP is an ideal role for someone just starting out in catering, or for anyone who loves working in a busy but friendly team.

BAR STAFF (Part or Full time)

You’ll be ready to give great customer service and know, or be eager to learn, everything about drinks service, cocktails and managing a cellar.

WAIT STAFF (Part time or Full time)

A successful restaurant is only as good as the front of house team. Whatever your level of experience, if you think you can make our guests feel welcome and that nothing is too much bother, we’d love to meet you.
