We sometimes get late availability. Please feel free to call us on 01333 451 815 during opening hours if there is no availability showing on the day you’d like to book.

Credit card details must be provided to secure your booking. We would only make a charge if you cancel within 24 hours or do not show up for your booking.

Served in both the bar and the dining room between 12:30 and 15:30.

Our varied menu includes soup, sandwiches, snacks, smaller plates and substantial mains, all freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients.

We can provide options from our menu for children, and can cater to anyone with dairy or gluten intolerances.

Our historic back bar has a great selection of local ales, spirits from Fife and beyond, Scottish and Continental lagers, delicious cocktails and a wine list we hope will surprise and delight. Come for a drink or two, bring the kids, bring the dog and settle in for the afternoon, the evening, or both.

The bar opening hours are:

Wednesday to Saturday:  12:00 – 23:00
Sunday  12:30 – 22:30


We have four bedrooms, each over 15m2, with king or super king-sized beds and large bathrooms with walk-in showers.

Three rooms are on the first floor, while the fourth occupies the whole of the top floor with views to the Isle of May and beyond.

Due to the quirky configuration of the staircases in this historic building, The Shoregate’s bedrooms will not be suitable for guests who require assistance climbing staircases.


Whilst dogs are very welcome in the back bar, we are not able to accept pets in the dining room or to stay in our rooms.
