Treat yourself to a night (or three) in one of our elegant bedrooms and you’ll wish you could move in permanently.
Our rooms
We’ve designed and furnished our rooms to be the ultimate in comfort for your stay in Crail.
All our rooms feature high thread count linens, hypo-allergenic pillows, thick white towels, bathrobes and slippers. All have a dressing table with a hairdryer.
They also all have a mini-fridge, room safe, 50″ TV with casting technology, complimentary snacks and some Darnley’s gin (with tonic) to help you unwind on your first night.
There’s a Nespresso machine along with a proper kettle and a selection of teas. Fresh milk will be in your fridge.
All our rooms are strictly non-smoking (including vaping) and unfortunately we cannot allow pets.
Breakfast
A full breakfast is included in all our rates and is served in the dining room from 08:00 to 10:00. We’ll ask you what time you’d prefer to take it when you check in.
All items are cooked to order and use the freshest ingredients from local suppliers.
If you have any dietary requirements or special requests, please let us know a day or two before you arrive.

There is free parking behind the Shoregate and on the high street.
Due to the quirky configuration of the staircases in this historic building, we strongly advise guests who require assistance climbing stairs to contact us before making a booking to discuss the suitability of our rooms. Our bedrooms are not wheelchair accessible.

Room 4
Running across the whole second floor, this suite has a good sized bedroom with exposed stonework and beams, a separate sitting room with a double sofa bed and an en suite shower room. The window in each rooms offers a wide sea view across the rooftops of Crail down to the sea, and out across the Forth to the Isle of May and the East Lothian coast.

Monday and Tuesday stays
As The Shoregate is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays, we are not currently allowing new check-ins on those days.
However, if you wish to check-in on a Saturday or Sunday and stay through to Wednesday or longer, we are happy to open the rooms for you, although please note there will be no lunch or dinner service. Please email us for details.
We recently stayed at The Shoregate in Crail for two nights for a short break away and we couldn’t recommend it enough! Our room was extremely welcoming & very clean with the highest of standards. The bed was really comfy and couldn’t fault it, it was a great night sleep!
